Star Wars: X-Wing” series, Aaron Allston is a series of novels written by and published by Del Rey. The series takes place in the timeline of the original “Star Wars” trilogy and specifically tells the stories of X-wing fighter pilots from the Star Wars Universe.

The novels written by Allston tell the adventures of a group of pilots called the fictional “Wraith Squadron”. These characters play a key role in winning the war against the Empire. The books “Wraith Squadron,” “Iron Fist,” and “Solo Command” detail the missions performed by this group and the challenges they faced.

Allston also wrote the last book in the series, “Mercy Kill,” and a stand-alone book, “Starfighters of Adumar.” Both works are centered around the history of Star Wars and the members of this special unit of hunters.

Although he is not the author of the first three books of the “Star Wars: X-Wing” series Aaron Allston, comes into play starting from the fourth book of the series, “Wraith Squadron”. Here's a synopsis about “Wraith Squadron”:

In a time of war, the New Republic establishes the Wraith Squadron to ensure that the Empire no longer escapes its grasp. This special unit includes a mix of fighter pilots and intelligence agents. Appointed as the leader of the fleet, Wedge Antilles is tasked with completing various missions, disrupting the empire's plans with this mixed and uniquely talented group.

While “Wraith Squadron” at first glance appears to feature a series of battle scenes and aerial combat, the book actually examines the interesting and complex dynamics between the characters and the many different personalities that enter the squadron. The way Allston deepens his characters and moves the story forward keeps readers firmly hooked.

This is the first book Allston contributed to the “Star Wars: X-Wing” series. The books often offer a mix of exciting action, humor, and character development.
